I was born and raised in York, PA and a graduate of York Suburban High School. After graduation I joined the United States Marine Corps. I spent most of my career station at Camp Pendelton, CA. Following the Marine Corps, I spent seven years as a correction officer at York County Prison. This is where I found Brazilian Jujitsu.
My jujitsu journey started with training under Professor Daniel Beleza. I trained with Prof. Beleza for 4 years and earned my purple belt under him. After Beleza went home to Brazil, both gyms combined under Prof. Mike Oberdick here at Zero BJJ. At this time the kids program was in its infancy with maybe 3-6 students. After observing the kids class several times I volunteered to head up the class after the instructor at the time had to leave for personal reasons. I brought my ideas to Mike, which are based on my military leadership and law enforcement background. The kids class has grown from the 3-6 students to 35 plus students we have today.
My goal as instructor is to help each child grow and develop self- confidence. I want our students to learn courage, integrity, honor, self-discipline and commitment.
